What trouble could you possibly get into texting?
Playing out like today's headlines Wheels of Death from Directors Edward and Rob Kennedy takes a humorous look at what happens when a preoccupied young woman inadvertently runs down a policeman while texting. The results, amusingly played out give audiences an excellent view of the kind of quality one can expect from this duo.

Irish brothers Edward and Rob Kennedy have been producing short films for the last couple of years and showing them at festivals around the world.
Wheels Of Death filmed in 2008, was the first of four productions they have done thus far. In 2009,
WOD won the Killer Shorts Sudden Death competition held at the Monster Mania con in Cherry Hill, NJ.
The most interesting aspect of this production for me was the overall quality. Rather than shoot beyond the scope of their meager budget, the brothers instead wisely concentrate on individual performances and well composed shots which imbue the production with a polished look that would indicate a much larger budget than what they actually had. This slick professional approach means their films are truly short subjects but ones that say much in a concise manner. I would love to see what these gentlemen are capable of doing with a feature!
In addition to the production value, the films small cast, particularly star Zena Al-Nazer as 'Wendy', deliver believable performances that sell the action. Wheels Of Death is Al-Nazrer's only screen credit, but one would never guess considering the confidence she exudes.
Take a few minutes, six to be precise, and check out the film via the link provided above. This crisp, well shot and cleverly edited film very economically illustrates talent worth keeping an eye on.
